NOTICE: Shipping temporarily suspended to the USA.
To our valued US Customers
We wanted to give you a quick heads up about some recent changes that will affect shipments coming from Canada.
Tariffs Explained
Starting August 29, 2025, the U.S. has removed the “de minimis” exemption. This means that even smaller shipments (less than $800.00 value), could now have import duties (tariffs) and additional customs fees slapped on by U.S. authorities, to be paid by US customers.
Our products do not qualify for duty-free status under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (CUSMA). While our products are cut and sewn in Canada, in order to get zero duty, the fabric itself must be created in North America. Unfortunately, there are no mills in Canada that make our fabric.
There is one provision, called the TPL via CUSMA, that may shield our products from tariffs and duty in the future, but this requires lengthy paperwork that we have not yet waded through.
Bottom line: There is much confusion about how much tax will be charged by the U.S. border authorities, but it could possibly be 35% under the new tariff laws. I doubt anyone will want to pay that amount.
Decision Made
To simplify things for now, and until we know more, we have made the difficult decision to NOT ship to the US effective immediately. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience, and sincerely hope that we soon find a way to serve you again in the future. I will keep you posted.
Thanks for sticking with us. We really appreciate it!
Warmly
