Low Carb Snacks

Some schools have a balanced day, which includes 2 short lunch periods instead of one. If you're administering Multiple Daily injections (MDI), 3x/day, as many of us did in the early days of diagnosis, this extra lunch time can be a challenge as no insulin is usually given. Instead, food often needs to fall within  15-20g of carb range. Here is a list of ideas for low-carb, no-nut, snack ideas. These are USDA generic values; packaged brands will vary, so double-check labels when possible:
